President Buhari has mourned the dying of Reverend Tola Oyediran, the eldest daughter of the late Premier of the Western Area and nationalist, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
The previous Nigerian Tribune chairman was married to Professor A. B. O. O. Oyediran, former Vice-Chancellor of the College of Ibadan.
Oyediran reportedly died in her sleep on the age of 79.
An announcement signed by the household reads:
“The youngsters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Professor Olukayode Oyediran remorse to announce the sudden, however peaceable passing of his spouse of 57 years, Mrs Omotola Olubunmi Oyediran.
“Mrs Oyediran was the primary daughter of the late Chief Obafemi and Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo. She was a really loving, form and beneficiant mom, grandmother and nice grandmother, and matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty.
“She had a really giant household as a result of her coronary heart was giant, and her embrace huge. She was a buddy of the poor, needy and downtrodden. They known as her “Iya Alanu Oke Bola.
“She was filled with constructive vitality. She might be remembered with nice affection and sorely missed. Born in 1940, Revd Oyediran, 79, was anticipated to mark her eightieth birthday December 1.
“Might her soul relaxation in excellent peace.”
The President, within the condolence message by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Friday, commiserated with associates and associates of Mrs Oyediran, notably her solely surviving sister, Mrs Tokunbo Awolowo, over the unhappy loss.
He urged the household to take solace within the investments of the deceased in making life higher for others.
Buhari prayed that the almighty God would obtain the soul of the departed, and luxury all her family members.
