Greater than 500 years in the past, a medieval soldier’s lifeless physique settled on the backside of a Lithuanian lake, and for hundreds of years it lay hidden beneath the mud. Now, these submerged stays have lastly been discovered.

The skeleton was found throughout an underwater inspection of the previous Dubingiai bridge in japanese Lithuania’s Lake Asveja. Although the skeleton lay below a layer of sand and silt, the scene was not a burial, mentioned archaeologist Elena Pranckėnaitė, a researcher with Klaipėda College in Klaipėda, Lithuania, in response to the Baltic Information Service (BNS). Reasonably, water currents probably deposited sediments that coated the stays over time.
